Welcome to Breaking Bad K9

 The Birth of a Vision

“I started Breaking Bad K9 when I felt like the world had already written me off.”

                - Paul Dunlap -

For most of my life, I was stuck in cycles—pain, poor choices, and prison bars. I was angry, misunderstood, and hardened by survival. People looked at me and saw a lost cause. Hell, sometimes I did too. But deep inside, I wasn’t bad. I was hurt. And no one had ever taught me how to handle it. Then came the dogs. Broken, reactive, unwanted—just like me. People had given up on them too. But where others saw problems, I saw myself. And for the first time, I found something that made sense: if I could help them heal…

maybe I could heal too. So I took all the pain, the rage, the lessons I’d learned the hard way—and I turned it into a program that works. I didn’t read this in a book. I lived it. And I made it my mission to give dogs and owners a second chance, because I know what it’s like to need one. I know what it’s like to be treated like a lost cause…

until someone finally believes in you. Every dog I train is a little piece of me. The misunderstood. The reactive. The ones on their last warning. And every time they succeed, it reminds me: we’re not broken. We’re just waiting for the right person to help us transform.

“We’ve all got a little fight in us. And with the right kind of training…

even the most misunderstood dogs (and people) can come back stronger than ever.”

Breaking Bad Confident K9 Training

Our Training Philosophy

At Breaking Bad Confident K9 Training, our philosophy is simple: every dog deserves a leader, not a negotiator. We believe behavior issues stem from confusion, not defiance—and it’s our job to bridge that gap with structure, clarity, and purpose. We don’t chase perfection; we build trust, respect, and lasting change through honest, balanced training. It’s not about control—it’s about communication. When you lead with confidence, your dog follows with calm.

A Personalized Approach to Training

At Breaking Bad Confident K9 Training, we use a balanced, no-nonsense approach focused on real-world results. Our training is structured, consistent, and tailored to each dog’s unique needs. We believe dogs thrive with clear communication and leadership, and we teach you how to confidently guide your dog through any situation—whether it’s leash reactivity, anxiety, aggression, or basic obedience.

What sets us apart is our commitment to training both dogs and their humans. We don’t offer quick fixes—we build long-term results by giving you the tools to maintain progress outside of sessions. Every program is customized, practical, and built to transform not just your dog’s behavior, but your bond with them.

Finding the Right Plan for Your Dog

At Breaking Bad Confident K9 Training, we recognize that no dog is perfect—and that’s perfectly okay. Every dog has its own personality, history, and behavioral challenges. That’s why we believe in tailored training solutions, not cookie-cutter programs.

We strongly recommend starting with a free meet and greet. This gives us the chance to get to know your dog, assess their behavior, and determine what training approach will work best. From there, we’ll recommend the most suitable course to meet your dog’s specific needs and goals.
